Trek is now living with experienced Irish water spaniel owners Bud and Rae in Orange County, California.  Thank you Bud and Rae for providing Trek with such a great home, and especially for taking him hunting!

Trek was placed because, despite two arthroscopic surgeries and months of rehab, he had problems associated with with elbow dysplasia when engaging in the normal activities here on the farm, which include long walks in rough, hilly, rocky pastures.  In his new home he walks, runs, plays, and hunts and has no lameness problems. The terrain is milder, and Trek does not have Pyr sheps hipslamming him and challenging him to races.  A better lifestyle for him, but he is missed around here!
Drake
mature male Irish Water Spaniel.
Drake was bred here at Madcap, sired by Susan Tapp's "Jack" (Ch Castlehill's Fynders Keepers CD) and out of our "True" (BISS Ch Madcap's Brilliant Virtue CD).  He is 9 1/2 years young.

Drake was placed as a puppy in a family with three young boys and a duckhunting Dad.  He shared his home with female pointers as well.  Recently the family split up, and they were unable to keep Drake, so he came to live with us at the farm.  He is a great dog to live with - athletic and active enough to go out running, playing fetch, or hunting all day, and calm enough to curl up on the corner of the sofa when there are no games happening.  He is a champion snuggler, so would do best in a home where a demonstrative dog is appreciated.  Dogs, cats, kids, livestock: this Irish gentleman gets along well with them all.

Drake is more than welcome to live the rest of his years with us and would be treasured.  But I have a feeling that someone out there is yearning for a dog just like Drake

Drake has a wonderful home in Maine with Irish water spaniel lovers.  He gets to run on the beach and has another water spaniel to play with. The corner of the sofa looks empty without him...

Rehomes are seldom available, but we had two in the past two years.
